Tally Prime is an accounting software that provides comprehensive solutions for managing a business’s financial activities, including accounting, inventory management, payroll, taxation, and more.
  1. Download: Visit the official Tally website to download the Tally Prime installer.
  2. Installation: Run the downloaded file, follow the on-screen instructions, and select the appropriate options (like installation directory).
  3. Activation: After installation, open Tally Prime and activate the license using your license key.
  1. Operating System: Windows 7 or higher, or Mac OS X (with virtualization).
  2. Processor: 64-bit processor.
  3. RAM: Minimum 2 GB.
  4. Hard Disk: 1 GB of free space for installation.
  5. Other Requirements: .NET Framework 4.5.1 or higher.
  1. Open Tally Prime.
  2. Navigate to: Gateway of Tally > Create Company.
  3. Fill in the required details: Company name, address, financial year, etc.
  4. Save company details
  1. Go to: Gateway of Tally > Accounting Vouchers.
  2. Select the voucher type (e.g., Payment, Receipt, Sales).
  3. Enter the required details: Ledger account, amount, narration. Save the entry.
  1. Balance Sheet: Gateway of Tally > Balance Sheet.
  2. Profit & Loss Statement: Gateway of Tally > Profit & Loss A/c.
  3. Ledger: Gateway of Tally > Display > Ledger.
  1. Go to: Gateway of Tally > Backup.
  2. Select the source folder (where your data is stored).
  3. Choose the destination path to save the backup.
  4. Press Enter to initiate the backup.

  2. Select the backup file from your source location.
  3. Choose the destination folder for restoration.
  4. Press Enter to restore the data.
  1. Enable GST: Gateway of Tally > F11: Features > Enable Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  2. Set GST Details: Enter GST registration number, State, and other related details.
  3. Create GST Ledgers: Gateway of Tally > Create > Ledger and configure them with the applicable GST rates.
  1. Create Stock Items: Gateway of Tally > Inventory Info > Stock Items > Create.
  2. Stock Groups/Units: Gateway of Tally > Inventory Info > Stock Groups/Units.
  3. Stock Summary: Gateway of Tally > Stock Summary to view inventory levels.
